Gun owners Need to be more accepting (A house divided cannot stand)

I have a message for you today. That message is simple. Gun owners need to be more accepting.

What do I mean when I say this? I am going to make a judgement. I know this judgement doesn’t apply to all gun owners. The stereotype of gun owners is straight, white, male, republican. But we know the majority of gun owners might only fall within one or two, or even none, of these categories.

To some degree this stereotype is perpetuated by gun owners ourselves. How quick are we to eat our own? How quick are we to attack a fellow gun owner on issues unrelated to our right to keep and bear arms? How quick are we to push away a fellow gun owner for an issue that has nothing to do with gun rights.  How quick are we to beat anyone over the head who doesn’t agree with us on all of our opinions?  This is OUR right. This is not the right of just the right nor the left. The right to keep and bear arms is just not the right of the straight nor the gay. This is just not the right of the believer or non.

This is OUR right, our right granted to us by creation, then acknowledge and documented by our founding fathers. Our right.

A house divided cannot stand. For as long as we gun owners choose argue and bicker about our differences, we shall never be able to stand united on our similarity.

Our opposition is very well organized. Our opposition doesn’t argue about issues on the side line. Our opposition is unified in their civilian disarmament agenda, and is unified in their fight against us. How can we win the fight against our attacker if we are distracted by fighting ourselves?

There is something you should know about me. That is I don’t care…

  • I don’t care what color your skin is.
  • I don’t care where you or your parents were born.
  • I don’t care what you think about health care.
  • I don’t care in what aisle you buy your underwear.
  • I don’t care what name you use to address your god when praying.
  • I don’t care if you never pray at all.
  • I don’t care about the flavor of the month concocted to divide We The People.

But I do care about one thing, and that is that you believe as I do, and that is that our right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed…

And if you believe in that, then you are my brother and you are my sister and I shall stand shoulder to shoulder with you side by side and fight!

Fight with everything I’ve got to defend our right… OUR RIGHT… Together.
